Making our stories even juicier!

WOW!
Mason turned this ordinary sentence: 'The boy went up the stairs.' into something much more delicious by adding adjectives and better word choices...

Look what Steffini wrote the following week about the picture below. She could have written 'The bear went on the slide.' BUT she chose to make the same idea more interesting. She did this by adding adjectives and using words that hold more detail.

We LOVE Science!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's a glimpse of what A5 scientists are investigating at the moment.
From serious concentration to amazement!

Our experiments on Wednesday helped us to decide which "fuel" was best to use for our boat races today. Sorry no photos of that. It was all go!!!

ED

We know ED has three sounds,

BUT did you also know he is a time traveller? It's true! ED takes verbs into the past.

Knowing this helped us figure out that our big book being told as a story in the past. Another word that gave us a clue was 'was'.

is = now
was = past

Sound of the Week: 'd'

Dogs and an elaborate dog kennel to house the dogs
Joseph with his drone and his chosen photo face. Drone has our focus blend 'dr'
I'm not sure who looks more fierce; Caleb or his dinosaur?
Dad, a duck and our duck feet to celebrate our big book 'Lazy Duck' and to help us remember the sound 'd' and the 'w' 'o' rule

WHAT IS THE 'w' 'o' RULE YOU MAY ASK?
When you hear an 'o' after a 'w' the 'o' sound is written with an A, like in waddle. We waddled in our duck feet.

Speaking of which, waddled also has our focus chunky monkey work ending. 'd' is only one of the three sounds ED makes.
