Freddie Frog update

Wow kids! Look at how Freddie Frog has grown!
Freedie used to be 4cm tall before we put him in the water. You can see his original size on the paper where we drew around him and then measured his height. Look at him now in comparison!

Image result for ten friendly frogs bookFreedie is still in our class sitting out of the water. He might get a bit bored by himself. Why don't you write him some subtraction or addition stories about his friendly friends, like we did in class, in the comments section below for him to read and solve while we are away!

If you can solve someone else's Maths story write that in the comments too!

Here is Amelia's tadpole that turned into a frog! He's so tiny.

Our resident author

What a delight to see this dude's writing that he has been beavering away at, at home. Thanks for sharing your stories with us today Bradley. I was so proud to see how proud you were of your work. As a reader, I loved reading your stories. Awesome job!

Sound of the Week: Short /e/

Send in your photos of things you've found around the house featuring short /e/ and I will put them on the blog!

Amalie "We found bed, leg, fence, hen, egg (shaker), pen, teddy bear, pegs."

"Outside we found shed, hens, more fences, and even a real fresh egg in the nesting box, then we realised that nest has the /e/ sound too!"

A5 Scientists

A5 SUPER SCIENTISTS
We loved visiting the Science Lab on Monday. A MASSIVE thank you to Mr Hewitt for having us in your lab and for sharing your scientific knowledge. We used mircroscopes to explore what cannot be seen with the eye. We saw the detail in our hair and the cells in our cheeks. We had no idea those cheek cells were even there! God is amazing in the way He created us with so much detail!

February Calendar Challenge

Our first Calendar Challenge for the year! The animal for February was a Brown Pelican. The brown pelican can be found on the Atlantic, Pacific and Gulf Coasts. On the Atlantic Coast, it can be found from North Carolina south to Venezuela. On the Pacific Coast, its range stretches from Southern California to Chile. After nesting season, it can be found as far north as British Columbia and Nova Scotia.

Sadly, due to a low resolution glitch on the ipad, only some of our photos did not come out :( Our big group photo was one of the ones that we lost, but here are a few of our entries. For the first challenge, the quality was pretty amazing! It was a real treat to have Aadhya from A5 2019 as a guest entrant. She created the clever 3D entry below.
